Patrick Stewart Teases Exciting Star Trek: Picard Season 2 Storylines

It's still a long wait for Star Trek: Picard Season 2. However, it looks like Patrick Stewart is already excited about working on the second season of his new series. Interestingly, the veteran actor teased on what will happen in the show, and it could reveal how Picard truly feels about his new body.

In the Picard Season 1 finale, Picard's friends managed to save his life by transferring his consciousness into a synthetic body. It's a strange new thing for the former Enterprise captain and Stewart confirmed with Gold Derby that he had spoken to co-creator Akiva Goldsman and new showrunner Terry Matalas about exploring how Picard adjusts to the golem.

"That's a question that I brought up with Akiva and Terry when the three of us were having a script discussion," Stewart admitted. "I wanted to know what, exactly, they had done to me when they saved my life, and was there any chance that this might have an impact on Picard's personality or behavior."

It sounds like a great idea but Stewart was quick to point out that Goldsman and Matalas had disagreed. Nevertheless, he believes it's a great story arc to touch upon in Season 2.

"They felt that it probably wouldn't, but it lies there as an option should we need to take it. But also, there is another human aspect being introduced into Season 2, which I am not allowed to talk about, but it's going to have, I think, quite an impact," Stewart said.

It would be exciting to see how Picard truly feels about the body that serves as his salvation but is also a new challenge. Needless to say, we can't wait to see what happens next for Picard in the second season.

Star Trek: Picard Season 2 is expected to begin production in February. The second season has not yet been given an official release date.
