Park Seo Joon Marvel Update 2022: South Korean Heartthrob Opens Up About Hollywood Debut

Park Seo Joon dishes out his thoughts about his mega-hit series, the booming K-culture and his highly anticipated appearance in The Marvels.

The 33-year-old star has not only solidified his career in South Korea but is also making a name for himself in Hollywood.

In mid of 2021, rumor sparked that he was courted by Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) to join Brie Larson as part of 2019's Captain Marvel sequel.

Months later, Soompi reported in September of the same year that Park Seo Joon's agency, Awesome ENT confirmed that the South Korean heartthrob left the country to film Marvel movie,

Unfortunately, the label is tight-lipped about the details regarding his U.S based project.

Now, the actor is spilling the tea as he speaks about his thoughts for his big break in Hollywood.

Park Seo Joon's Marvel Journey: 'I actually couldn't believe it'

During his interview with the British newspaper, The Guardian, the Itaewon Class star gets honest about how he truly feels after officially being part of an MCU film.

He recalled the first time heard that MCU wanted to speak with him, he said, "I couldn't believe it. I actually couldn't believe it."

However, when asked regarding his character, Park Seo Joon didn't give further details, adding, "I'm just trying to be careful with Marvel-related questions."

Aside from Brie Larson and the South Korean star, Captain Marvel 2: The Marvels cast includes Iman Vellani, Teyonah Parris and more.

Since this will be the actor's first big break in Hollywood, he shared that he is "not someone who has a fear of challenges," but filming locally abroad seems like a challenge to him, confessing that he also feels nervous at times.

As for his experience in MCU, Park Seo Joon says that "everyone was so helpful and welcoming."

The 33-year-old celebrity is a household name in South Korea. He starred in numerous notable K-dramas such She was Pretty, Fight for My Way, What's Wrong with Secretary Kim, and the blockbuster series Itaewon Class.

Now, aside from The Marvels, Park Seo Joon is slated to appear in a slew of series and films locally.

He will have his Kdrama come back in 2023 for K Project with Han So Hee and Squid Game's Wi Ha Joon and a new movie Concrete Utopia and Dream with IU.
