Director Guillermo del Toro may not have been on the helm of Pacific Rim 2. However, he isn't yet ready to part with the franchise, at least not in its animated series form.
Speaking with Collider, del Toro revealed that he is very much interested in an animated version of the movie.
"I would love to do an animated series, but I do not run the company."
That means plan are not even concrete as of the moment, if ever becomes a reality. But at the very least, fans can still look forward to del Toro's animated work. His animated work Trollhunters on Netflix is something that he has been working on for a while now.
Given how his start with Trollhunters had been a slow but steady until its release in Netflix. So there is still a good chance to get an animated series off the ground. Perhaps this particular scenario is also something we can expect for del Toro's far-off Star Wars spin-off movies?
