"Droughtlander" is almost over as Outlander Season 6 is coming soon, and Starz is not holding back when it comes to promoting the epic, time-travelling drama. The premium cable network recently released a video titled, What's to Come in Season 6 on social media, and in the clip, star Sam Heughan, who plays Jamie Fraser, shared a major spoiler.
In the new promo video for Outlander Season 6 shared by Starz, several Outlander stars share a preview for what's coming, and it includes Heughan, who revealed the major spoiler that there's going to be a time skip.
“Some time has passed but the family is still slightly fractured from what happened before, at the end of Season 5,” Heughan said in the video.
Fans who have caught up would know that the end of Season 5 ended in a traumatic way for Jamie and Claire after she was brutally attacked by Lionel Brown (Ned Dennehy) and his men. With the time skip ahead of few months, it looks like the new season will see Claire try to recover from her traumatic experience. It's likely that viewers will still see how the trauma will affect Claire in Season 6.
In the promo video, Balfe says that the new season is a "great" one, and that things might not appear normal at first, but it won't take long for complex emotions and tensions to rise.
“On the surface, I think everyone’s carrying on as if things are normal,” Balfe explained. “But the ramifications of what happened at the end of last season are still strongly at play, I suppose.”
Lauren Lyle, who plays Marsali Fraser, said that as the season unfolds, things are going to get a "little bit dark", and Balfe adds that "things go slightly awry."
Outlander Season 6 is set to premiere on Sunday, March 6, on Starz in the U.S.; fans outside the U.S. can watch it on Netflix globally.
