Netflix's Outer Banks Season 3 has officially wrapped filming on Friday, September 16 in South Carolina, USA, after seven months of shooting in multiple locations. The third season began production in February 2022.
OBX star Jonathan Daviss, who plays Pope Heyward in Netflix's teen series, was one of the first to announce that production for Season 3 has wrapped earlier this month, and the rest of the cast completed production on Sept. 16, as confirmed on Instagram by assistant director, Michael G. Jefferson. The filming in Barbados, which lasted for three weeks, wrapped by the end of last month.
Outer Banks stars Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Rudy Pankow, Jonathan Daviss, Madison Bailey, Carlacia Grant, Drew Starkey, Austin North, Deion Smith, and Charles Esten, all reprising their roles in the third season. Grant has also been promoted to a series regular.
Is there a release date for Outer Banks Season 3?
Now, that filming is complete, OBX fans are wondering when Season 3 will be released. The show will likely take several months to complete its post-production phase, and Netflix hasn't announced an official release date for Outer Banks Season 3 yet.
But now that production is over, it probably won't take long. Outer Banks Season 3 will most likely be released by late 2022, at the earliest, but it'll likely be released sometime in 2023.
When will Netflix share more updates for Outer Banks Season 3?
Netflix has already revealed its lineup for the Tudum 2022 virtual event that will showcase upcoming TV shows and movies from the streaming service, and fans will be glad to hear that Outer Banks is included in the lineup.
Netflix's second annual free virtual fan convention will feature five "global" events in 24 hours on September 24.
