Outer Banks Season 3 Release Date Reportedly Revealed; Season 4 Script Already Being Written

When Netflix released Outer Banks Season 2 last July, the American action-adventure mystery teen drama quickly topped the U.S. charts, and fans are wondering when Season 3 will be released. While Netflix hasn't officially confirmed a new season of Outer Banks, the hit series will likely return thanks to its massive viewership and rising popularity, and now, we might have an idea when Season 3 will premiere on the streaming service.

In a recent report by the Small Screen, the UK-based outlet claims that they reached out to a source with "very close ties to the production" of Outer Banks, and here's what the anonymous source told them when asked about Season 3:

"We're finishing up the scripts for Seasons 3 and 4. Season 3 should start filming this year and be out towards the middle of 2022 – if all goes to plan."

The release date for Season 3 sounds about right considering that Netflix released Season 2 around July, and it's considered to be the perfect series to watch during summer, so it's likely that the show will return in Summer 2022. Another interesting bit in that quote reveals that they are also writing the script for Season 4 as well, so expect the show to continue through 2023 and possibly further. So far, Netlfix hasn't officially announced any information about the future of Outer Banks yet, but expect the streaming giant to reveal details soon.

However, that doesn't confirm that Season 4 is getting a greenlight from Netflix. The streaming giant tends to get writers of their most popular shows to write the scripts for future seasons before they are confirmed.
