Recently, director Valery Weiss shared a photo of the Outer Banks cast and crew on Instagram with the caption: “Big love to my @obx family as they begin shooting Season 3 tomorrow!!!! See ya’ll soon.”

It's already expected that filming for Outer Banks Season 3 would begin sometime in Feb. 2022, so the director's announcement isn't really surprising, but now we know that filming officially started. Now, fans want to know when production is expected to conclude, so they can soon find out when Season 3 will air on Netflix.

What's on Netflix previously estimated that filming for Season 3 will begin in Charleston, South Carolina on Feb. 16, 2022, and run through August 19, 2022, but the outlet noted that filming dates are subject to change.

However, one Redditor said that Netflix might release the new season in August, believing the filming schedule to be inaccurate. “It could easily come out in mid to late August,” they wrote in a post, presuming filming will conclude in May or June, and that it would take about two months to complete post-production.

This makes sense as the streaming giant would want to capitalize on the summer vibe, and Season 2 was released on July 30, 2021.
