Knives Out 2 star Madelyn Cline recently opened up about the Outer Banks Season 3 photos posted by Chase Stokes, her costar and ex-boyfriend, in which the former couple were seen holding hands. The Netflix adventure series is currently in production in South Carolina, and the photos made fans wonder if they're back together in real life.
“It was our start of filming,” the 24-year-old actress told Us Weekly at the 30th Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party on Sunday, March 27.
She attended the Los Angeles event with her costar Drew Starkey, and both of them were restricted from sharing details about the show's third season, which is expected to debut on Netflix later this year. “We can’t say anything,” Cline told the outlet.
The Outer Banks stars, who play Sarah Cameron and John B, confirmed their off-screen romance in June 2020 after months of speculation, and celebrated their one-year anniversary in April 2021, but they reportedly broke up last November. However, based on the Season 3 photos, it looks like their characters are still going strong after Sarah and John B. got back together at the end of Season 2.
The photos, which Netflix shared to give us our first look at Outer Banks Season 3, featured Cline and Stokes holding hands while walking in a line with the rest of the Pogues: Rudy Pankow (who plays JJ), Madison Bailey (Kiara), Jonathan Daviss (Pope), Carlacia Grant (Cleo), and Drew Starkey (Rafe). In one of the photos, Daviss, 22, holds his surfboard over his head on what appears to be the island on which the Pogues were stranded at the end of Season 2, as 23-year-old Pankow is carrying Starkey, 28, on his back.
