Our Blues is one of the most-watched Kdramas ever since its premiere on May 7, 2022. The new Kdrama tackles the bittersweet lives of people who live on Jeju Island and their different stories that discuss the reality of life.
The series immediately gained huge attention with its star-studded cast, including Lee Byung Hun, Shin Min Ah, Cha Seung Won, Lee Jung Eun, Han Ji Min, Kim Woo Bin, and Uhm Jung Hwa.

Our Blues Episode 8 Recap
Our Blues Episode 8 sees Ho-sik and In-gwon getting in a fistfight after the latter throws money at his old friend, which challenges his ego. In-gwon casually asked Ho-sik to have Yeon-ju get rid of her baby like it was an easy thing to do.
As the two vehemently disagree with their children’s wishes to have the baby, Yeon-Ju and Hyun had no choice but to get on with their own lives. Yeon-Ju left home and stayed in a motel while Hyun quit school to work part-time jobs.
The situation gets worse when Yeon-Ju gets sick, and Hyun asks Ho-sik to take her back home. Hurting his ego, Ho-sik firmly announced that he would not give in to what Yeon-Ju wanted him to do.
The next morning, Hyun takes another part-time job at the tangerine storehouse. Ho-sik abandons his ice warehouse and refuses to work for the whole day. He decides to clear his mind with the sound of the waves when Eun-hui comes for him.
Eun-hui thought she could have Ho-sik get a grip of himself and somehow convinces him to understand Yeon-Ju’s situation. Right at the moment, he receives a call from Hyun that Yeon-Ju’s cold is getting worse.
As the loving father that he is, Ho-sik rushes over to the motel to see Yeon-Ju. But before he arrives, In-gwon already got Yeon-Ju and forces her to go to the hospital and get rid of the baby.

Thankfully, Hyun arrives to rescue Yeon-Ju. Hyun takes Yeon-Ju away from In-gwon, leaving him with an enraged Ho-sik. The two got into a fight and were brought to jail.
Our Blues Episode 8 also highlights the reason why Ho-sik and In-gwon suddenly grew apart from each other even though they had been best friends since middle school. It turns out that Ho-sik was deeply hurt when he tried to borrow money from In-gwon right after Yeon-Ju’s mother left them for good.
Ho-sik confesses that he had no one else to turn to at that time, and In-gwon was the only person he knew that could help him. But In-gwon treated him like a beggar, letting the young Yeon-Ju beg him for money.
When the two were set free after writing their reports, In-gwon reflected on himself. However, when he was about to go down the stairs, he suddenly fainted, and it was revealed that he had diabetes.
The next day, Ho-sik comes to Yeon-Ju’s school to talk to the guidance counselor regarding her situation. Thankfully, the school permitted Yeon-Ju and Hyun to still attend classes, considering how they got a bright future ahead of them.
However, Ho-sik still holds onto his decision of letting Yeon-Ju go. That night, he visits In-gwon at his factory but is met with an emotional moment between him and Hyun. It seems that In-gwon and Hyun finally saw each other eye-to-eye and exchanged apologies.
