Original Voice for Terry McGinnis Wants to Return for Batman Beyond

After the success of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse last year, WB is now looking at making some animated superhero movies of their own which will be released in theaters. Just in, they're working on a Batman Beyond movie, and the original voice of Terry McGinnis wants in.

This was posted up by Will Friedle who found out about the news:

In the original cartoon, Terry had become a protégé of an older Bruce Wayne whose body could no longer keep up with the demands of being the Batman. Though Terry isn't as smart or strong as Bruce, he definitely has it where it counts, and has become his own kind of Batman—which was pretty much the theme of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

Not to mention Terry has that incredibly high-tech suit to keep him ahead of his enemies.

Come to think of it, Batman Beyond is kind of a hybrid Spider-Man/Batman. Just like Peter Parker, Terry has to juggle his superhero alter ego with his school life—something Bruce Wayne never had to do. Plus, Terry's Batman is also a lot nimbler and skinny, just like Spidey.

Though some people may love the classic animated Batman and its characters, Beyond also had its own moments and provided Terry with his own Rogues Gallery of colorful villains. Blight was supposed to be the main adversary for Terry in the series, but there were also great moments with classic villains like Ra's al Ghul and Mr. Freeze. You should also owe it to yourself to check out the fantastic Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker.

No official release date has been announced for the Batman Beyond movie.
