Warner Brothers Developing Batman Beyond Animated Movie

Warner Brothers might be busy building the DC Extended Universe, but that doesn't mean that the studio's forgotten all the DC animated movies that help keep the franchise alive.

Concept art for an unconfirmed animated Batman movie just recently leaked online, and now, Geeks World Wide has just learned that the Warner Animation Group's been working on an animated Batman Beyond movie for DC.

Though details about the project have yet to be released, industry insiders say that it's likely that the Batman Beyond animated movie would begin production sometime in 2020 with a theatrical release that could be set in 2022.

Screen Rant emailed Warner Brothers for a comment and was sent some concept art for the animated movie. You can check it out here.

For those who aren't familiar with the show, Batman Beyond was an animated series that served as a follow-up to the critically-acclaimed and immensely popular Batman: The Animated series. In the show, fans get to see a future Gotham where an old-aged Bruce Wayne abandons his mantle as the Dark Knight. Years after Gotham goes on without Batman, Terry McGinnis stumbles upon Bruce's old life. While he is reluctant to see Batman return, Bruce eventually allows Terry to take on the mantle after the young boy finds out about the murder of his father.

Batman Beyond ran for three seasons and was well-received by both fans and critics like Batman: The Animated Series.

We wonder what kind of adventures we're going to get to see in the new Batman: Beyond movie.
