Original Mulan Star Ming-Na Wen Cast In Star Wars: The Mandalorian

Star Wars: The Mandalorian is making its way to Disney+ later this year, and it looks like original Mulan voice actress Ming-Na Wen is joining the highly anticipated Star Wars live-action series.

According to Newsarama, Disney CEO Bob Iger announced Ming-Na Wen's casting in the new Star Wars series during his introduction in the actress' Disney Legend's award at this year's D23 Expo. Though we're not quite sure what role Wen will play in the Star Wars show, we're not entirely surprised by the casting.

The voice actress has always been a big fan of the galaxy far, far away, telling Access Hollywood back in 2013 that "There's nothing better than having a lightsaber in your hand."

"I don't care, I could have a walk on, just like passing Han Solo. I don't care. That's on my bucket list, to somehow get in one of those movies. Wouldn't it be great?" Wen said during the interview.

It looks like Wen's dream is finally coming true – though we can't be really sure whether she'll be able to hold a lightsaber in The Mandalorian considering the fact that the series is going to focus on the scoundrels and bounty hunters of the Star Wars franchise.

A new Star Wars live-action series created by Iron Man director Jon Favreau for the launch of Disney's upcoming streaming site, Disney+, The Mandalorian tells the story of a lone warrior and his adventures across the outer rim.

Star Wars: The Mandalorian is set to stream on Disney+ on November 12, 2019.
