One Piece is no stranger to merch and fashion collabs, especially as it’s one of Japan’s biggest media franchises. And now, a new One Piece and Vans sneaker collab seemingly leaked online.
Recently, Fullress shared a leaked image of an upcoming One Piece x Vans sneaker, and it is said to be released on November 11, 2022. Specifically, the sneaker is a pair of Vans Authentics and it seems to come in a special box.
There isn’t much info about the sneaker collab, but there are some other photos that are spreading online. If this gets confirmed, it shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise given how big the series is.
Right now, One Piece is 1,061 chapters strong and is officially the bestselling manga of all time with over 500 million copies in circulation.
The series has also expanded into one of the biggest media franchises in the world, complete with a long-running TV anime adaptation, games, and more.
Recently, the series released fashion collaborations with Japanese brands such as Peach John and EXIEEE. A collaboration with Uniqlo was also released a few months ago which promoted the release of One Piece Film: Red.
This movie was released in Japan last August and is scheduled to release in the US, the UK, and other countries this November.
The film is a likely reason why we’re seeing a lot of One Piece merch this year, not to mention that 2022 marks the series’ 25th anniversary.
More images of the sneakers were shared online by @DatWeebAngel, showing off the sneaker in more detail.
Based on the leaked images, this Vans Authentic sneaker features a Straw Hat-inspired upper with prints featuring the personal Jolly Rogers of the Straw Hat pirates.
The sneaker also seems to have a blue insole with the Vans and One Piece logos, as well as a red waffle outsole and a compass rose print on the tongue.
These leaks also come with a closer look at the box which details the November 11, 2022, release date.
Right now, there’s no official announcement from Vans yet, so you may want to take these leaks with a grain of salt as they’re not verified for now. If it does get confirmed, there’s no info yet on if the collab will feature more items.
