After an initial batch of leaks got released yesterday, another round of One Piece Chapter 1061 spoilers leaked online, and they feature the highly anticipated first appearance of Vegapunk, or at least, the new character claims to be Vegapunk.
While One Piece chapters usually get released every Sunday in Japan, details and even scans get leaked a few days before.
Such is the case with the latest chapter as raw scans have spread all over Twitter, causing the hashtag #ONEPIECE1061 to trend with thousands of tweets.
Spoiler Warning: There are possible One Piece Chapter 1061 spoilers in this article.
The new chapter’s title is Egghead, Island of the Future and it refers to the next location of Egghead Island, the home of Dr. Vegapunk.
While Vegapunk has long been mentioned in the series, he has yet to make an actual appearance in the series’ events.
Though the new chapter picks up right where Chapter 1060 left off, with the Straw Hat crew rescuing Jewelry Bonney, one of the Worst Generation pirates like Luffy, Law, and Kid.
Shortly after they rescue her, the Straw Hats are attacked by what seems to be a robot shark.
While the Straw Hats survive the attack, it causes them to once again get separated. Specifically, Luffy, Jinbe, Chopper, and Bonney find themselves together on Egghead Island.
It was Bonney who revealed the island that they were standing on. She also mentioned that she is seeking Vegapunk as she has “business with him.”
This is possibly her seeking Vegapunk after seeing Bartholomew Kuma’s state back in the Levely Arc.
Aside from Bonney and the Straw Hats, the chapter also shows Tashigi in a nearby marine base, and she’s with the kids that were rescued from Punk Hazard.
Also on the island are members of SWORD, the marine’s special force with an unknown mission.
There, Helmeppo is begging a superior officer to help rescue Koby as he was captured by the Blackbeard Pirates.
While Helmeppo’s request is being denied, he asks that the marines use the seraphim since they are near Vegapunk’s island.
These new creations were first shown in the latest chapter.
At the end of the chapter, Sanji, Usopp, and Franky are shown to be saved by a giant robot. Soon, a girl exits the robot and introduces herself as Dr. Vegapunk.
Vegapunk has been mentioned in an older chapter as an old man, so this girl may just be one of Vegapunk’s creations.
There’s also the fact that the girl introduced herself like an old man based on her speech pattern, as well as the "Punk 02" print on her chest.
Finally, the One Piece Chapter 1061 spoilers and leaks reveal that the series will be on break next week.
Take note though, you may want to take these spoilers with a grain of salt.
These will be confirmed when the next One Piece chapter gets officially released in a couple of days.
