One Piece Chapter 1,053 Recap
Marijoa is in a panic over the release of today's newspapers. One of the Gorosei tells a Marine that they did not approve of a specific photo being put out. Unfortunately, they can't contact the printing factory.
Meanwhile, Morgans aims to spread the news far and wide around the world. He says he won't let the government change the narrative. As mentioned in the newspapers, Big Mom and Kaido have been defeated.
The three captains — Luffy, Kid, and Law — now have a bounty of 3 million Berries each. Notably, Luffy's photo is him in Gear Five.
Meanwhile, the whole nation of Wano is celebrating. Luffy and the others are running around the capital, eating and partying. Under the castle, Tenguyama approaches Robin.
Tenguyama reveals that he is actually Kozuki Sukiyaki, Oden's father and Momo's grandfather. Robin asks if Momonosuke knows, but Tengu says he has no intentions of telling Momonosuke the truth. Robin asks if Pluton is in Wano, and Tengu confirms.
In Udon, Ryokugyu singlehandedly defeated King, Queen, and their subordinates. His Devil Fruit power looks like it has something to do with plants and absorbing others. Using the Den Den Mushi, he asks for a battleship to come to Wano.
At the Flower Capital, the festivities continue. Kid attempts to attack Luffy, but Luffy puts his arm around him and leads a toast. Kid shows Luffy the newspaper, which states that he is part of the new Four Emperors of the Sea. Alongside Luffy are Shanks, Buggy, and Blackbeard.
