One Piece Chapter 1,045 Recap
Kaido notices that there's something odd about Luffy's Devil Fruit — it both has properties of being a Paramecia and a Zoan-type of Devil Fruit. He lunges forward to eat Luffy, but Luffy bounces around Kaido's body.
Luffy turns into a balloon, causing Kaido to float up. Yamato and Momonosuke see this and are both shocked. They are confused with Kaido's form.
Luffy escapes through Kaido's eyesockets. Yamato and Momonosuke see him emerge but aren't sure if it's really Luffy or not.
Kaido and Luffy continue to fight, with Luffy using Kaido as a jump rope. The two exchange attacks, and at one point, Luffy's head and neck crash into the hole in the ceiling of the Performance Floor, surprising everyone.
Kaido says their fight has been entertaining, but Luffy can't defeat him. Luffy says he's fine but immediately runs out of energy. Yamato and Momonosuke are still watching them.
Luffy manages to get some energy back through his drum heartbeat. As he attacks Kaido, Kaido notices Luffy's interesting combat styles.
Eventually, Luffy punches Kaido in the face — one that's strong enough to knock him down to the ground.

Raizo uses his scrolls to prevent the castle from burning any further. There is water inside is scroll, which is now passing through the inside of the castle. Jimbei is controlling the flow of the water.
Luffy and Kaido's fight is still ongoing. Meanwhile, we get an update on what's happening inside the castle, including Sanji and Zoro.
Yamato and Momonosuke notice that Kaido's Flame Clouds are starting to disappear. The island is about to fall.
Luffy catches lightning and attacks Kaido.
