Obi-Wan Kenobi Synopsis Teases Another Revenge of the Sith Character's Return

The official description for Obi-Wan Kenobi has finally been dropped and not surprisingly, it confirms that the Jedi Master will be facing several challenges this May. But did it also confirm the return of an important character who previously appeared in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith? The synopsis for the Disney+ series teases a familiar face going after Kenobi in the highly anticipated show!

Disney+ has revealed the official synopsis for Obi-Wan Kenobi and it confirms that the project will deal with some betrayal. The description for the series reads as follows:

"During the reign of the Galactic Empire, former Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi embarks on a crucial mission. Kenobi must confront allies turned enemies and face the wrath of the Empire."

It doesn't really reveal that much and fans are quick to point out that "allies turned enemies" refers to Anakin Skywalker who is now Darth Vader coming after Kenobi. However, some are also speculating that it isn't worded as "ally turned enemy" confirms that there will be more than one important character chasing Kenobi in the show.

So who could possibly show up in Obi-Wan Kenobi? It is believed that the synopsis teases the return of CC-2244 aka Commander Cody. After all, the Clone Trooper was the one who should have eliminated Kenobi during Order 66. There is a possibility that his failure to do so meant he would be tasked with finding Kenobi and fulfilling his mission.

For now, it has not yet been confirmed whether Cody will show up in Obi-Wan Kenobi. However, there were previous reports that The Book of Boba Fett actor Temuera Morrison filmed some scenes for another Star Wars series and people believe it could have been the Ewan McGregor project. Since he previously played the Clone Troopers in the Star Wars prequel trilogy films, it would make sense for Morrison to reprise the role of Cody.

Obi-Wan Kenobi premieres on Disney+ on May 24, 2022.
