Obi-Wan Kenobi Series First Teaser Trailer is Out; Ewan McGregor's Return is Worth the Wait

The latest Disney+ original series of Lucasfilm is ready to shake the galaxy far, far away once more as the first teaser trailer of Obi-Wan Kenobi drops proving that the return of Ewan McGregor after 17 years is worth the wait and everyone is excited for what the show has in store for the titular Jedi Master.

If the Twitter account of the series and the first look images of the cast weren’t enough yet to hype the people waiting for the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, an official teaser trailer drops on the same day featuring the titular Jedi Master coming back after 17 years since Ewan McGregor donned the character and the hype continues.

In the teaser, the much-anticipated Star Wars series delves with the Inquisitors looking for the last remaining Jedi as Obi-Wan is trying to hide from them on Tatooine. The Grand Inquisitor and a young Luke Skywalker also graced the trailer and everyone is just as excited as if this day is blessed with so much Obi-Wan Kenobi content to hype up the show.

Ewan McGregor is back after 17 years and he did not disappoint, not at all! Just by looking at the teaser trailer, his return is worth the wait. Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan Kenobi appeared in the prequel trilogy of Star Wars from 1999 to 2005 and that was the last time everyone has seen him in the franchise, making his reprisal of the role in his very own series a more remarkable one.

Obi-Wan Kenobi will be set between the events of Star Wars (1997) and Revenge of the Sith (2005) and it will serve to fill in the gaps between McGregor’s version and that of Alec Guinness who played the role in the original trilogy of Star Wars from 1977 to 1983. The story would follow Obi-Wan after he made a promise to protect Luke Skywalker.

Joining Ewan McGregor in his titular Obi-Wan Kenobi series would be another prequel trilogy actor as Hayden Christensen would be back as Anakin Skywalker/ Darth Vader. Also in the series would be Joel Edgerton as Owen, and Bonnie Piesse as Beru Lars. The cast would be completed by Kumail Nanjiani, Moses Ingram, Sung Kang, O’Shea Jackson Jr. Rupert Friend, Simone Kessell, Indira Varma, Maya Erskine, Rory Ross, and Benny Safdie.

Obi-Wan Kenobi series is scheduled to release on a special day as it would be out on May 25, the same day that the original Star Wars graced the theaters four and a half decades ago. It will be exclusively streaming on Disney+.
