Obi-Wan Kenobi Reportedly Bringing Back Star Wars Fan-Favorite Bounty Hunter

People are expecting a lot in Obi-Wan Kenobi, especially after the first trailer for the Star Wars series was dropped earlier this month. That means several fan theories popping up all over social media before the show premieres on Disney+. For instance, a new report points out that we'll get to see a familiar face in the latest Lucasfilm project. Will Kenobi bring back a fan-favorite bounty hunter from the original Star Wars trilogy films?

We recently saw a lot of bounty hunters in The Book of Boba Fett although the titular character was the only one who had previously appeared in the original trilogy films. Now, Star Wars News Net suggests that Fett's former associate from The Empire Strikes Back will return in Obi-Wan Kenobi.

According to the report, a credible source confirmed that 4-LOM will be brought back in Obi-Wan Kenobi. Although the details of the bounty hunter's role in the show were not revealed, the source stated that the character will have longer screentime than he did in the Star Wars films.

We're loving the idea of 4-LOM showing up in Obi-Wan Kenobi, especially since the character only had a few seconds of screentime despite having a cool backstory. The LOM-series protocol droid was originally programmed to serve a particular individual but glitches allowed him to override his programming and become a bounty hunter. We still don't know much about 4-LOM but it would be awesome to see him again in the new Star Wars show.

For now, Lucasfilm and Disney are still keeping details about the series under wraps and have not yet confirmed if 4-LOM will appear in Kenobi. With that in mind, it's best to take this with a grain of salt.

Obi-Wan Kenobi will bring back Star Wars prequel trilogy actors Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christensen, Joel Edgerton, and Bonnie Piesse. They will be joined by Rupert Friend, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Simone Kessell, O'Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Maya Erskine, and Rory Ross.

The Obi-Wan Kenobi show will be a limited series consisting of six episodes. It will premiere on Disney+ on May 25, 2022.
