Noah Hawley Has Finished The Script For Doctor Doom

Noah Hawley has impressed comic book fans thus far with FX's Legion, which has successfully blended psychedelic imagery with non-linear storytelling. It's easily one of the most compelling X-Men projects out right now, so it's easy to see why many were excited when Hawley ended up as the director for a solo Doctor Doom movie.

Hawley has just revealed that he is finished with the film's script, which should please fans. The director was quick to point out that it still needs work but it seems like he has the film's gist down pat.

"I wrote a script that I really like and the studio really likes. It needs a little work."

Revealed by Vulture, Hawley said he's proud of the script and hopes Fox likes it too, but it won't be filmed anytime soon. Hawley will be busy directing Pale Blue Dot with Natalie Portman and Jon Hamm but he hopes to get back to the film afterward.

"It's hard for me, at this exact moment — because I start shooting another movie in five weeks — to do that work. So, I mean, my hope is to go back to [the Doom movie] after [Pale Blue Dot]."

Victor Von Doom is one of Marvel's best villains but his reputation with movie viewers has been butchered in four different Fantastic Four films. Some would argue that the character was a bit interesting in the horrific Fant4stic reboot but considering how bad the film was overall, no one cares.

We shouldn't expect to see a release date for this solo Doctor Doom film. It's a shame that he has already been used poorly in some Fantastic Four films but this movie could redeem him.
