There are a total of 16 sentient life races that are part of the Ixseed in the fantasy anime No Game No Life. The Ten Covenants apply to these rankings which are based on their magical affinity. But which race is number one in No Game No Life? How powerful is the top rank, and who is its representative?
There are two main categories: Life, which is comprised of the top 6 races, and Creatures and Living Things, which cover the remaining 10 races.
The division was made to explain heaven and earth. This means that those who are part of Life are more powerful than those under Creatures.

What Is the Number One Race?
Old Deus is the top-ranked race. They are comprised of the old gods who lost their titles and statuses after the Great War. They decided to create all the races except for Demonia and Immanity to give back the concepts and beliefs regarding their existence.
What's surprising is that they were the ones who started the Great War. They fought over the title of "One True God" and made their creations kill the other gods.
However, some of them lost their will to continue and some died during the war. Tet won the war and became the One True God.

Old Deus' Strengths and Weaknesses
As the number one race, there are a lot of expectations for Old Deus. They have to be superior to the other races and in order to keep their title, they must have impressive strengths.
However, their existence and power rely heavily on the concept or beliefs they represent. As long as the belief in them is strong, they can further enhance their strengths.
They are also immortal and would never die due to natural causes. Old Deus can also take on different forms and have their own puppet body.
They can also create an entire race that they can rule and manage. This explains how they were able to create the other races under Ixseed.

However, they also have weaknesses. It is said that they cannot be killed by natural causes but they can perish if their Ether is affected in any way.
They can also kill themselves, which explains what happened during the Great War.
They are born of Spirit Circuits which is also their source of power. Once the Spirit Circuits are gone, they can lose their power for a short while.
Despite these weaknesses, Old Deus is still considered the strongest race. Taking them down would require a strong and extremely powerful god.
