Nintendo Switch May Have a Place in the Market

The promise of the Nintendo Switch is not really in the power of its hardware or a very expansive software (though we have yet to really know its lineup)—it has to be in the new offer of both home and on-the-go gaming.

We've seen that firsthand when Jimmy Fallon was lucky enough to sample bits of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on the Nintendo Switch in The Tonight Show. He was able to switch from playing on the TV screen to playing on the handheld's screen with no fuss.

This may be the unique offering of the Nintendo Switch, one that developer Nick Pettit from Zoxide Games echoes as a great advantage of the new console. In an interview with Gamingbolt, Pettit reiterated the interesting factor of the Nintendo Switch, which is its hybrid function.

"I think Nintendo's approach is interesting and it enables a lot of unique opportunities for developers. I usually view any challenges as creative opportunities. Gaming is a huge market, so there's plenty of room for Nintendo to do their own thing and create something unique."

Pettit is also positive that the Nintendo Switch will be able to create a niche for itself, considering the unique function of the console. We'll have to wait for more details on January, when the Nintendo Switch event is expected to reveal more details about the console.
