Nintendo Deletes Pokemon Sword and Shield Tweet About 'Gym Masters'

Nintendo Switch owners everywhere are pretty hyped for Pokemon Sword and Shield, the first two official games in the series coming to the system. Barely any details on the game were given, aside from the UK-based setting and the new Starter Pokemon. However, Nintendo of America seemingly shared new details on the Pokemon Gyms, revealing that the people in charge are now called Gym Masters instead of Gym Leaders.

Then, Nintendo of America decided to delete the tweet. What happened?

Fans still don't know why the tweet was deleted, with most fans assuming that maybe some of the information was wrong or that they revealed something too soon. Was it the large soccer field-sized Gyms? We'll never know as the company has yet to say anything about the tweet.

Expectations are high for Sword and Shield since these are more proper installments of Pokemon. Let's Go! Pikachu and Let's Go! Eevee were seen as games made for the more casual gamer or lapsed fan of the franchise and in that regard, it succeeded, though hardcore fans were yearning for more of the grind-oriented games. That's what Sword and Shield are for.

Pokemon Sword and Shield will be coming out this Fall, though no proper release date has been given. Pokemon Let's Go! Pikachu and Let's Go! Eevee are now available on the Switch.
