Nightwing: Director Hoping For Early Casting Announcement

When Lego Movie director Chris McKay announced that the Nightwing film would have an open casting, fans went ballistic. The DC film is one of the more anticipated ones, after all, considering how loved the character is by fans. Because of these factors, it's easy to see why fans are very excited to see the film and know who will be playing as the Bludhaven savior. It turns out fans won't have to wait too long if McKay gets his way.

Answering a question on Twitter, McKay is expecting more concrete info for the film's casting by February. That's only a few months from now and would make fans of the character very happy, assuming the film's casting director chooses wisely. Fan reception to casting choices can be very mixed and can lead to completely different results. People didn't like Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman before but now she is synonymous with the character.

Nightwing doesn't have a planned release date yet, so fans shouldn't get too excited about the casting announcement in February. Upcoming films from the DCEU include 2018's Aquaman, with Shazam and Wonder Woman 2 planned for 2019. Flashpoint and Justice League Dark were also recently confirmed, while reported projects like Suicide Squad 2 and Cyborg have not been reported on.
