Flashpoint: Ezra Miller Says Filming Starts Soon

Despite Justice League's lackluster success in the US, DC and Warner Bros. will continue to make films set in the DCEU. One of the films fans are excited is Flashpoint, Ezra Miller's solo spin-off and maybe even Ben Affleck's final film as Batman. No one knows when the movie's release date is going to be but it looks like production for it will start soon, at least according to Miller.

On Twitter, Daniel Eliesen claimed that Miller told him Flashpoint would be shooting soon. It's a pretty vague statement but if it's true, this can only mean good things for the DCEU. Many fans are expecting a major shakeup from the film, though some would argue that it's a bit early to do changes this major. Then again, with the reported shakeup in WB, it looks like this film will be a bit appropriate.

As fans who've read the series know, Flashpoint causes a major rift in the DC universe. The purpose of the series was to reboot the comic lineup so that fans would buy more comics. It led to a much grittier DC universe, one that would lighten up and embrace its legacy once Rebirth became the major branding for the company. Also, Watchmen is now one of the main reasons why the New 52 became a thing, though that probably won't happen in the movie.

Miller was a fan favorite in Justice League, so it will be interesting to see if he can carry a film by himself. Considering how CW's The Flash has already covered Flashpoint and Reverse-Flash, it will be fun to see how this film differentiates itself from that. Expect more timeline memes.

No release date for Flashpoint has been revealed.
