It would be hard for anyone to follow-up Dan Slott's 10-year run on Amazing Spider-Man, who has definitely rocked Peter Parker's world in a number of ways. That being said, Marvel might have just found the perfect creative team to take over the company's longest-running comic book; Nick Spencer (Morning Glories, Secret Empire) and Ryan Ottley (Invincible).
Comic Book revealed the news, confirming that the book would relaunch with a brand-new #1. We also get our first look at Ottley's cover, which seems to be done in the style of an Invincible issue. It's one hell of a creative team and we can't wait to see what they do to Spidey's world.

Spencer says that his run with Ottley will Juxtapose Peter Parker and Spider-Man, which is very classic, to say the least. The best Spider-Man stories often have the character tiptoeing between his civilian and superhero life, so the pitch is definitely enticing.
"The best Spider-Man, his personal [trouble] is mirroring his troubles in costume, and the two stories are feeding each other and being Spider-Man always comes with considerable costs to Peter. It's always getting in the way of his life. So, to me, it's kind of a dance between those two things at this stage."
The former Captain America writer also expressed excitement over writing Peter's supporting cast, which makes sense. Spidey has one of the best supporting casts in comics, rivaling Superman and Batman in that category.
"When you get excited to write Spider-Man, it's because you're also excited to write Jonah and Aunt May and MJ and Black Cat. You know, just there's so many incredible characters in this orbit, so getting to play with that cast, getting to make them a big part of our story is key. And I can say pretty much all of your favorites will be making an appearance at some point."
Amazing Spider-Man #1 comes out this June.
