Ant-Man and The Wasp Size Up For Six-Issue Mini-Series This June

Now that Ta-Nehisi Coates is taking over Captain America in the Fourth of July, fans have wondered what comic Mark Waid would be working on. After freezing Captain America and making him king of a possible future for his 700th issue, Waid is going to handle a smaller series. Pun intended.

Marvel has announced that Mark Waid will write Ant-Man and The Wasp, a six-issue mini-series with Death of X artist Javier Garron. The first issue comes out in June, a month before the film of the same name hits theaters, making it ripe for newcomers who want to give the size-changing duo a shot.

Waid expressed plenty of excitement for the series, telling Newsarama how much he loves the Microverse and how its ripe for exploration. The Avengers and Champions writer is also happy to work on a duo since it will allow for more a more character-oriented adventure.

Fans expecting these two to be a couple like in the movie are in for a surprise. Lang is much older than Nadia Pym (Nadia is Russian for Hope haha), so the relationship between the two won't likely be romantic. Considering how sudden the romance between the two in the first Ant-Man was, this might be a wise move.

Ant-Man and The Wasp #1 comes out on June 6. The film comes out a full month later on July 6.
