Nick Offerman Almost Lost His The Last of Us Episode 3 Role

WARNING: This article contains MAJOR SPOILERS if you haven’t watched The Last of Us Episode 3 on HBO Max, so read at your own risk!

The Last of Us Episode 3 featured the heartbreaking love story between Bill and Frank, both of whom ended up falling in love with each other amid the post-apocalyptic setting in the HBO series. While fans were merely expecting a little brush up on the romance of the two, similarly to how the Naughty Dog video game briefly mentioned Frank as Bill’s partner, Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin elaborated their relationship as a little side story that brought fans to tears.

Nick Offerman may be known best for his comedic role in NBC sitcom’s Parks and Recreation, but the actor has definitely proven himself to be quite versatile in playing the more dramatic role in The Last of Us Episode 3. Did you know he almost didn’t get the role for Bill? Offerman admitted on Jimmy Kimmel Live! that it was his wife who convinced him to take the role. Check out his full quote below:

“When I got the script — Craig Mazin wrote the script, who did Chernobyl among other things, that guy seems to know what he’s doing, and he sent me this script and I didn’t have time on the calendar to say yes to this job,” Offerman explained.
