NewJeans has finally announced its upcoming comeback in January 2023. The group is now emerging as one of today's most favorite girl groups.
Fans will be treated with a new album, OMG, next year and a special winter song before 2022 ends.
NewJeans’ Comeback Announcement
On Thursday, November 10, Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein announced on their official fan community, Phoning, a new single album would be coming on January 2.
It will feature songs that may be included in the girls’ debut album, along with a special song for fans.
The pre-release single will be out on December 19.

“If the debut album showcased NewJeans’ summer, this single album will be one that showcases NewJeans’ winter,” ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin said, via Soompi.
The group rose to prominence after their debut tracks, “Attention” and “Hype Boy,” became big hits after they entered the K-pop scene this summer.
They’re the first girl group launched under Min Hee Jin’s new HYBE sublabel, ADOR.
NewJeans’ Fandom Name
This will be NewJeans’ treat to their fandom, whom they recently named Bunnies a hundred days after their debut.
They will also call them Tokki, which means rabbit in Korean. In addition, the group unveiled its official light stick.
However, some say their light stick looks like B.A.P.’s, which is also shaped like a bunny, and they named Matoki, which is also their mascot.

This even led to a discussion on the online community Instiz, where many analyze the similarities between the two light sticks.
One said their only similarity is that they both look like rabbits, while another insisted that they’re completely different. A netizen then explained that their designs and colors differ from each other.
NewJeans to Attend Melon Music Awards 2022
Meanwhile, the Melon Music Awards 2022, presented by Kakao Bank, has officially announced its first lineup of artists.
NewJeans will be attending the event, along with the (G)I-DLE and IVE.

The awards night will take place at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on Saturday, November 26. Tickets started to be on sale on Tuesday, November 8, for Melon GOLD members, on Friday, November 11, for Melon users using Kakao Bank, and on Wednesday, November 16, for all other Melon users.
