Star Wars fans are eager to see how the Skywalker Saga unfolds with the release of The Rise of Skywalker just a few weeks from now. Aside from Emperor Palpatine's mysterious return, many people are curious to learn about Rey's Sith Dagger, which was briefly spotted in the final trailer released about a month ago. And now, we finally get a better look at the potentially all-important weapon.
A new 30-second TV spot was recently released showing new footage consisting of our heroes. The teaser starts with Rey insisting to go alone, presumably, to fight the First Order and Kylo Ren. To which Finn replied, "We're all in this... till the end." This scene was followed by various clips of The Resistance, including Rose Tico. You can check out the teaser above.
The most intriguing part of the trailer was around 00:12 where Rey is seen holding the Sith Dagger. She seems to be using the weapon as some sort of map or compass, based on how she's holding the dagger. She does this while Finn and Poe looked quite confused. C-3PO, BB-8, and Chewbacca are also present and can be seen in the background.
This particular TV spot also showed the Dark Rey clip that was featured in the trailer released back at the D23 Expo, which could suggest that the dagger is essential to the story, and might be incorporated with Rey's potential turn to the Dark Side.
For now, there's no telling how the Sith Dagger is relevant to the story, but multiple fan theories have emerged. Some speculate that this could be the weapon she will use to kill Palpatine, while others say it contains Sith writing that only C-3PO could translate.
We're all about to find out when Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters on December 20.
