Despite Luke's family in the title of the next Star Wars film, it looks like the Jedi Master is not going to play a huge role in The Rise of Skywalker. C-3PO actor Anthony Daniels recently revealed that his character would be "front and center" in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

"I'm front and center in this one for a lot of it. That made me feel very happy and very excited. Because the stuff we do is magic. The inventiveness superb," Daniels told the press at Disney's D23 Expo via ET Canada.

"And so for me and for 3PO this is a very good bye-bye moment. Enjoy," he adds, as he waves his hand.

This puts the Star Warsleaks from Reddit user JediPaxis substantially correct as it was mentioned that C-3PO would be facing a huge responsibility upon the discovery of an ancient artifact that turned out to be a Sith dagger.

Sith writing is seen on the dagger and they hope that C-3PO could decipher this, unfortunately, this is one of the very few languages C-3PO does not know. This leads to Poe Dameron and the team traveling to a winter planet called the Kijimi, where C-3PO is to be modified in order to translate the inscription as needed.

Once it is translated, it is said that the Sith writing may lead to the forest moon of Endor where the second Wayfinder that belongs to Emperor Palpatine (which is said to return in the movie in some way) is revealed.

Given the situation C-3PO has according to these leaks, Daniels' statement might have been true in a sense because his character would be crucial in discovering a major part of the movie's plot. This might come as a bit of disappointment to those hoping to see more of Luke, who, as per Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker leaks so far, gets only at least two scenes.

Although these leaks aren't confirmed yet, one could tell that C-3PO would carry such a burden as the faith of the Resistance rests in his hands. Thus, making C-3PO a vital character, making him the front and center after all.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hits cinemas on December 20, 2019.
