A lot of fans have been anticipating the release of The Flash in just a couple of weeks as they can finally witness Barry Allen's first solo adventure in the DCEU as well as the long-awaited return of Michael Keaton's Batman.

In addition, the film will also feature the appearances of several DCEU characters such as Ben Affleck and Michael Shannon in what perhaps to be the last time that we will see them in the franchise prior to the DCU reboot.

Now, another past DCEU character is confirmed to make their comeback as the new trailer for The Flash revealed that Jeremy Irons is reprising his role of Alfred Pennyworth in the film.

He showed up at the start of the trailer where he is seen contacting The Flash after being summoned by Bruce Wayne. This is the first time that he showed up in promotional material for the film.

Based on the trailer, it looks like Alfred will only show up in the beginning part of the film just like Ben Affleck's Bruce Wayne. It is also likely that this will be the Oscar winner's last time to portray the character and he is only showing up since he is Bruce's companion.

Given the history between Bruce and Alfred, it's not really surprising to hear that Irons is appearing in the film even if it's just a cameo following his appearances in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League.

Besides Affleck, Shannon, and Irons, Antje Traue is also confirmed to reprise her role of Faora-Ul, General Zod's second-in-command who last appeared in Man of Steel. Kiersey Clemons, who appeared in Zack Snyder's Justice League, will also show up as Iris West.

There are also rumors that Gal Gadot will have a cameo as Wonder Woman following her appearance at the end of Shazam! Fury of the Gods. Temuera Morrison is also reportedly reprising his role as Thomas Curry, Aquaman's father.

Given the film's multiverse storyline, more surprise cameo appearances are expected to show up in the film. We might be hearing more details about it whether it's in other promotional materials or they'll make it a surprise to the audience.
