New Sword and Shield Mythical Pokemon Zarude Has Been Revealed

After weeks of teasing, we finally get to see the new mythical Pokemon for Sword and Shield. The Pokemon's name is Zarude, a new mythical monkey that will be appearing in the upcoming animated movie Pocket Monsters the Movie: Coco and will make its way to Sword and Shield soon, though details on that have yet to be given. We're expecting this to be some sort of Mystery Gift, as is tradition, though it would be nice to spot this Pokemon during the game's Max Raids.

What makes Zarude interesting is the fact that it's a dark/grass-type, which is a combination you don't always see in the Pokemon games. Fans who chose Grookey might be annoyed since it looks a bit similar to the Galar starter but aside from being monkeys, they have no relation. The Pokemon is set to be a likable character in Pokemon the Movie: Coco since it appears to have raised the title character.

Hopefully, more details are revealed and there isn't a convoluted way to bring this Pokemon to Sword and Shield. Then again, knowing Pokemon International, they will probably give out free codes to moviegoers who check the movie out in theaters. That or GameStop will get those exclusive codes somehow, which is pretty annoying.

Pokemon Sword and Shield are now available on the Nintendo Switch. Hopefully, more details on Zarude will be revealed soon.
