For the third time, a new live-action adaptation of Street Fighter is set to hit the big screen. This full-scale reboot promises to be unlike any previous version, featuring an ensemble cast that includes Jason Momoa and 50 Cent.
As Paramount Pictures and Legendary released a sneak peek during the 2025 The Game Awards, here’s everything you need to know about the new Street Fighter movie.
What is the New Street Fighter Movie About?

Set in 1993, the new Street Fighter movie will see the reunion of estranged fighters Ryu and Ken. The two are brought back into the fight by Chun-Li, who recruits them to compete in the infamous World Warrior Tournament, known for its brutal clashes of fists, fate, and fury.
But true to the franchise’s style, the competition is never just about the battle royale or landing the perfect Shoryuken.
Behind the flashy and glamorous fights lies a deadly conspiracy tied to the criminal organization Shadaloo and its notorious leader, M. Bison, who is expected to play a villainous role, just as in the games’ mythology.
This forces Ryu and Ken to confront each other and face the demons of their past – and they can’t refuse, or it will be game over.
