New Stranger Things Season 4 Billboard Provokes Fans About Steve's Fate in Second Volume

Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 1 continues to dominate Netflix in terms of viewership records. Just recently, on its 28th day of streaming, the series earned a total of 930,320,000 hours streamed around the globe. Now, Volume Two is envisioned to break its own records as fans will finally witness the season’s tremendous conclusion.

Volume 1 ended with the entire Hawkins gang in jeopardy at the hands of the show's latest villain, Vecna, who is undoubtedly the most dangerous antagonist the show has introduced. Max is still under Vecna's spell, Nancy is trapped in the Upside Down, while Eleven is still trying to regain her powers.

However, Joe Keery's Steve Harrington is also getting the buzz. Steve is now one of the fan-favorite characters in the show, thanks to his hilarious friendship with Dustin which established a hilarious dynamic duo that the fans worshiped. Of course, fans are now rallying to save Steve from the show, and this new Stranger Things billboard seemingly taunts fans about Steve's fate in the upcoming Volume Two.

There were lots of hints from casts and showrunners that one character or more would face death in the upcoming second volume. “You can expect from Volume Two, we’ve got some deaths coming, some gore, and a big– I didn’t say who," Schnapp told Jimmy Fallon at The Jimmy Fallon Show. While creators Matt and Ross Duffer boldly declare that "it's a darker season" and "things might not go well."

"I don't really want to say, but I would be concerned about the characters going into Volume 2, for sure," Ross Duffer told Empire Magazine. "I hope that that is sort of the sense, because it is a darker season and the kids are no longer kids. And there's sort of an ominous feeling that things might not go well. Now, whether they do or not, you'll have to watch."

Although it's hard to directly point out which character might face demise in the second volume, Keery's Steve is undoubtedly one of the obvious prospects. After being the fan-favorite babysitter for the Hawkins gang, Steve will do anything in his capability to protect the youngsters, and might even sacrifice himself just to save them. In the newly-dropped trailer for Volume Two, Dustin was seen roaring which might mean that someone very close to him is facing an extremely heartbreaking fate. Whoever that is, will surely unfold when Stranger ThingS Season 4 Volume 2 arrives on July 1.
