New Star Wars Showrunner Teases Ideas for Upcoming Disney+ Series

There is little doubt that people are already excited about the new Star Wars series that will air on Disney+. But what can fans expect in the new show that will be headed by Leslye Headland? The Russian Doll showrunner had actually teased on her ideas last year.

Headland was in attendance at the premiere of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker where she admitted that she wanted to work with Lucasfilm (via Comicbook.com).

"Oh, please. Please, queen Kathleen Kennedy," Headland said. She then shared that she already has plans for films. In fact, she's had them for a long time.

"Oh yes. Oh my gosh, yeah. I think I've had ideas for Star Wars movies since I was thirteen years old? Maybe eight years old?" Headland said.

It's safe to say that Headland is a huge Star Wars fan and we're pretty sure that her pitch really impressed everyone at Disney and Lucasfilm. Hopefully, we'll soon get some updates on what her new series is going to be about.

Headland is the first woman who will serve as showrunner on a Star Wars show. Although it was initially believed that The Mandalorian director Deborah Chow would be the showrunner of the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series, it has since been confirmed that Chow will direct the show.

The new Star Wars series is still in early development and details have not yet been revealed. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
