There's no denying that the Star Wars universe is currently thriving in streaming which is why it no longer comes as a surprise how Lucasfilm has somewhat shifted its focus on creating shows for Disney+. While the beloved science fiction franchise intends to bring the action back to the big screen in 2025, we can still expect the production company to dish out a number of shows that will further expand the property.

Now, a new report claims that some of our favorite characters will return to headline an upcoming show. According to insider Shaun O'Rourke (via Star Wars Meg), Lucasfilm is set to announce a brand new Disney+ series at this year's Star Wars Celebration.

The trusted tipster claims that the show will feature Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, and Han Solo but it remains unclear when in the timeline it could take place. As it stands, Disney and Lucasfilm have yet to confirm anything so just like any rumor, it's still best to take this one with a grain of salt.

If the rumor ends up being true though, there's a good chance that the supposed series could be set post-Return of the Jedi but we don't know for sure if it will actually be part of the MandoVerse's timeline. Considering The Mandalorian takes place five years after Episode VI, there's plenty of room to explore what the original trilogy trio has been up to following the Battle of Yavin, and while several media (including books and comics) might have already covered that, we'd still be down to see it in a live-action format.

Meanwhile, all of your Star Wars favorites — from movies to series are available to stream on Disney+.
