Star Wars Celebration Sets To Take A Brief Hiatus

Star Wars has been absent from the big screen for quite some time now. Despite their few impressive television offerings, diehards are hoping that the multimedia franchise will make its on-screen comeback anytime soon. The Star Wars Celebration is conducted annually, and in the meantime, it serves as a way for fans to celebrate anything Star Wars, but recent information revealed that the celebration is taking a one-year hiatus, which gave fans something to speculate about if this could mean anything deeper.

This year’s Star Wars Celebration is just 45 days away, and normally, the date and location of the next Celebration are announced at the end of the closing panel. But in a new article, the official site revealed when the next Celebration will be, stating five reasons for fans to wait patiently. “And if you can’t join us this year, with the next Star Wars Celebration not taking place until 2025, you’ll have plenty of time to work on your cosplay, refine your Wookiee roar, and sharpen your lightsaber skills.” the statement wrote.

With the biggest convention skipping 2024, fans will have plenty to reflect on as the 10th anniversary of The Force Awakens and the 20th anniversary of Revenge of the Sith approaches. 2025 could be the year that Star Wars returns to the big screen for the first time since The Rise of Skywalker (2019). A year off will also give the franchise’s production time to get their theatrical return on board.
