New Star Wars Series To Begin Production In UK After The Mandalorian Wrap

We're still waiting for the official title and trailer for Star Wars: Episode IX but it looks like Disney is already moving forward with new Star Wars projects. A report has just confirmed that a new Star Wars series has been given a production name.

It was previously reported that The Mandalorian has wrapped filming and Disney already has plans for a Rogue One: A Star Wars Story spin-off series focusing on Cassian Andor. Interestingly, Fantha Tracks reports that the House of Mouse has registered a production name for a third Disney+ series in the UK that was previously unannounced.

The new series was registered under the production name SERIES III PRODUCTIONS (UK) LIMITED. The title was registered on the same day as a new Star Wars film that is believed to be the first movie in Rian Johnson's trilogy.

So what exactly is the third Star Wars series going to be about? There are speculations that it could bring back Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian. It's also possible that the new show will focus on Emilia Clarke's Solo: A Star Wars Story character Qi'ra. However, most people are hoping it could be something that everyone has been waiting for for ages.

Some believe that the new series will be about Obi-Wan Kenobi, who was supposed to get his own film before the project was cancelled due to the Solo backlash. Hopeful fans speculate that Disney has decided to turn Obi-Wan's story into a Disney+ show instead. However, it's still based on speculations so it's best to take this with a grain of salt.

The third Star Wars series might get an official announcement at the upcoming Star Wars Celebration this April.
