New Star Wars Book Makes Unpopular Special Edition Change Canon

When George Lucas and LucasFilm released The Star Wars Trilogy Special Edition, fans were pretty upset over some of the changes made. There were two egregious changes in particular that ground a lot of people's gears; Han Solo no longer shooting Greedo first, leading to a whole "Han shot first" controversy and Hayden Christensen replacing Sebastian Shaw in the final scene in Return of the Jedi.

Sadly, fans are in for some unfortunate news. In the book Star Wars: The Secrets of The Jedi, they reveal some scenes from various Star Wars movies and one scene, in particular, will trigger fans. The book decides to keep Hayden Christensen as the ghost we see in the final scene in Return of the Jedi, officially making the Star Wars special editions canon.

This Star Wars book is mostly marketed towards children, so this shouldn't be a huge deal. Plus, the special editions of the Star Wars trilogy are the most readily available versions of these movies so it's what most people would be familiar with. We're all still waiting for the original versions to get re-released since they were only released on VHS back in the day.
