New Spider-Man: Miles Morales Featurette Gives Us Better Look at the Game

The PlayStation 5 reveal had started with the announcement of a Spider-Man game, and everyone was excited when it was revealed that it would be centered on Miles Morales. Just in, Insomniac has given us a more thorough breakdown of the trailer and has given us a lot more details on Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

As confirmed before, this is not a direct sequel to Spider-Man, but rather a spinoff not unlike Uncharted: Lost Legacy. This time around, we get to follow Miles as he explores his new powers, and we get to see that he plays a lot differently than Peter does, even having his own version of web-swinging which looks a lot more ‘flail-y'.

Here's also a small description of the story from the PlayStation Blog:

It's now wintertime, about a year after the events of the first game. Marvel's New York is covered in snow, and just before Christmas break, a war between an energy corporation and a high-tech criminal army has broken out. Miles's new home in Harlem is at the heart of the battle.

While there are some people who would have loved to see the continuation of Peter Parker's story, I think Insomniac is just biding its time for now. I actually like the idea of spinoffs. Maybe this game could introduce us to the multi-verse and we can get other games centered on Spider-Gwen, Spider-Ham, or maybe even the MCU's Peter Parker. It's just a thought.

No release date has been set for Spider-Man: Miles Morales, but it's said it will release this holiday, possibly as a PS5 launch title.
