Into the Spider-Verse Producer Phil Lord Knew About Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales Last Year

Miles Morales really is on top of the world, isn't he? The character was already doing really well in the comic books but thanks to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Marvel's Spider-Man, Miles has become something of a household name. This is why fans were more than excited to see Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales announced, which seems to be a spin-off to the first game and will likely lead the way towards an eventual sequel.

Turns out Phil Lord, one of the producers for Into the Spider-Verse, managed to get a good look at the standalone game before it was announced during the big PS5 event. Without spoiling anything, Lord said that this game was something special and that's enough for a lot of us to get excited. Lord and his frequent collaborator Christopher Miller did a fantastic job with Miles in their movie so here's hoping Insomniac can invoke some of that spirit.

It's good seeing the love Miles is getting from game developers and fans alike since the story of Marvel's Spider-Man was always leasing to this, among other things. Green Goblin and Venom are clearly two things that will get addressed when a proper sequel comes out, which I'm hoping is called Spider-Men and has both Peter and Miles playable, so we'll have to wait a bit more for that reveal.

Say what you will about Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales but it looks like a pretty solid game, even if it doesn't change anything too much. This is basically more Marvel's Spider-Man but with Miles instead and that's more than okay.

Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales will be coming to the PS5 this holiday season.
