New Rick and Morty Anime Short from Tower of God Director Unleashed at Comic-Con 2020

We're already excited about Rick and Morty Season 5 but it looks like Adult Swim has more awesome content from the animated show than its usual episodes. A new anime short directed by Tower of God's Takeshi Sano has just been unleashed at Comic-Con 2020.

The short is titled Rick and Morty vs Genocider and it opens with Morty being left in Japan without Rick. Although the people want Rick's help, Morty insists that he can help since he usually joins his grandfather on adventures. Interestingly, this leads to him having to fight against the mysterious Genocider.

This isn't the first time that Rick and Morty has surprised fans with an anime short. The previously released Samurai & Shogun was a brief yet bloody treat that was dropped on Toonami earlier this year. However, Rick and Morty vs Genocider is much longer and it once again proves that these guys can go into just about any dimension in existence.

The description for Rick and Morty vs Genocider reads as follows:

"Directed by Tower of God director, Takeshi Sano, Morty goes on an adventure to Tokyo, Japan to try and help stop ‘The Genocider'. Nothing weird happens. Produced by Sola Entertainment and animated at Telecom Animation Film."

So far, it is unclear if there will be more anime shorts in the future. Nevertheless, we're hoping to see more of these shorts.

Rick and Morty Season 5 has not yet been given an official release date. However, the animated series is expected to return on Adult Swim by the end of the year.
