New Photos from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse Give Us Look at Green Goblin and Aunt May

Venom isn't the only Spider-Man property that Sony is releasing this year as December will give us Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The movie is set to come out in a month, and we have some new images of familiar characters Green Goblin and Aunt May courtesy of Total Film.

While some fans may be more familiar with the Green Goblin as a guy in a suit throwing pumpkin bombs at people, this version of the Goblin is more reminiscent of the Ultimate Spider-Man comics. In that universe, Green Goblin is a giant hulking monster with fire powers.

Since she's the most famous old lady in the Spider-Man universe, it's very likely that the character in the second photo is Aunt May. It's unclear whether this version of May comes from Miles' universe, but her character has a significant connection with all three Spider-people. She's the aunt of Peter Parker's Spider-Man, who is the inspiration for Miles Morales, and she's connected to Gwen Stacy since her universe's Peter Parker was who inspired her to become Spider-Woman.

Though Venom was critically panned, a lot of people are looking more forward to the release of Into the Spider-Verse. Besides the animation—which looks stunning—it would be nice to have a Spider-Man movie with Spider-Man in it. Heck, there are a total of six in this movie… that we know of.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse swings into theaters Dec. 14.
