New Mutants Gets Two Creepy Teasers

Fox's New Mutants is going to be the first horror film in the X-Men franchise and reception to the first trailer has been positive thus far. While the film doesn't come out until next year, Fox decided to capitalize on the momentum they have by releasing two short, creepy teasers. Both of these don't go over ten seconds, but they will definitely get fans talking about next year's mutant-filled thrill ride.

The first teaser released on Twitter is called "The sins of our past," showing two crucifixes on a table with a shadow passing over them. It seems like they are teasing the Demon Bear, which the film is loosely based on, or Wolfsbane, the werewolf-like character played by Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams. In the comics she was raised by an abusive pastor, so the symbols chosen in the teaser makes sense.

As for the second teaser, we see a bright light through a cage with a dead bird in it. The message in the video says "Some things can't be caged," which could be a reference to either the Demon Bear or Wolfsbane again. It's pretty creepy and seemingly sets the stage for the backstory of Wolfsbane.

New Mutants will come to theaters on April 13, 2018. The film is directed by Josh Boone and stars Maisie Williams, Anya Taylor-Joy, Alice Braga, Charlie Heaton, Henry Zaga, and Blu Hunt.
