New Mutants Could Be The Start Of A Horror Trilogy

Fans have been buzzing about New Mutants ever since the first trailer came out since no one has seen a superhero horror movie before. The trailer itself is pretty creepy and we can only hope that the actual film lives up to the hype. If it does, we could get two more New Mutants sequels since the director revealed that he pitched a trilogy with the characters.

During an interview with IGN, director Josh Boone revealed that he pitched a trilogy of New Mutants films, all of which will be horror. Boone even stated that each of these movies would be a different type of horror film, with the first being influenced by A Nightmare On Elm Street and One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest. Horror fans will have noticed these right away thanks to the asylum setting and the creepy wall scene shown.

He also made some interesting statements about the film, like the Demon Bear not being the primary antagonist. Boone didn't spoil any of these details, but he did say that the film has more surprises that are not in the trailer. Lastly, the director pointed out that fan favorites like Karma and Warlock could appear in future sequels.

New Mutants will come to theaters on April 13, 2018. The film is directed by Josh Boone and stars Maisie Williams, Anya Taylor-Joy, Alice Braga, Charlie Heaton, Henry Zaga, and Blu Hunt.
