It goes without saying that Fox's X-Men film franchise was a hit and miss but you also can't discount the fact that it pretty much launched Hugh Jackman's career to the stratosphere, making him one of the biggest stars on the face of this planet. Jackman went on to become the flagbearer of the franchise, playing Wolverine for nearly 17 years and setting a record for the longest career as a live-action superhero, a feat that still hasn't been beaten today.

A lot of fans have been clamoring to see Jackman play Wolverine again and for good reason. However, 2017's R-rated smash hit Logan seemingly sealed his faith and since then, the actor has remained "retired" from playing the beloved mutant. Now, in a stunning turn of events, Jackman is fueling speculation about his potential crossover to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

When asked by a fan whether or not he's making a cameo appearance in Doctor Strange 2, the Aussie actor went straight to the point instead of giving a cryptic answer. And believe it or not, he told the fan that he's actually in the film. Of course, his "confirmation" doesn't really say much considering Marvel Studios' strict code when it comes to keeping all things MCU a secret. But on the other hand, what if he's just pulling a reverse Andrew Garfield on us?

Honestly, after seeing Spider-Man: No Way Home, it almost feels like everything is now possible in the billion-dollar franchise as long as the multiverse comes into play. Now, I'm not saying Jackman could appear in Multiverse of Madness but with all that is happening in the MCU right now, I wouldn't be shocked if Logan made his triumphant return to the Marvel realm.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness hits cinemas on May 6, 2022.
