New Major Evidence Supports Rachel McAdams’ Clea Debut in Doctor Strange 2

Benedict Cumberbatch will once again reprise his titular character role and will also be joined by another major MCU veteran, Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch in MCU's highly-anticipated Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

The Doctor Strange sequel will also introduce MCU newcomer America Chavez, with rumors swirling that the sequel might also introduce another major character completely tied to Doctor Strange in Marvel Comics, Clea the Sorcerer.

Rachel McAdams is set to reprise her role as Christine Palmer, Stephen Strange’s love interest from 2016's Doctor Strange. McAdams’ Palmer is a trained doctor much like Stephen Strange, and the two met in the hospital where Strange was in when he wasn’t entangled with the world of the sorcerers yet.

When the first trailer arrived, Palmer was spotted walking down the aisle, but not for Strange. Ritchie Palmer had also confirmed in a recent interview that Strange and Palmer won’t reignite their love story in the upcoming sequel.

However, McAdams was spotted alongside America Chavez and Doctor Strange traveling through a mysterious dark dimension in the latest TV spots and trailers. McAdams was also seen wearing a grey costume in a seemingly emergency surrounded by Ultron bots, who are not attacking her. But why would a common doctor like Palmer be involved with Ultron bots? And why would she travel through another dimension with Doctor Strange and America Chavez?

Now, another major evidence seemingly supports that there will be at least one variant of Christine Palmer in the upcoming sequel. In the wedding scene, Palmer’s hair is brown, and in the scenes where McAdams was spotted traveling through another dimension with America Chavez and Doctor Strange, the character’s hair is red.

To make it clear enough, McAdams might have a dual role in the upcoming sequel. We all know that Multiverse of Madness will introduce different variants, and the Palmer we see traveling with Strange and Chavez is Palmer’s variant, who is named Clea in another universe.

This would totally make sense as Christine Palmer was spotted getting married to another guy, confirming that her romantic connection with Doctor Strange is entirely over. And how else would Marvel introduce another character as Strange’s new love interest? Of course, with a Christine Palmer Variant.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will hit the big screens on May 4.
