New Look At Taron Egerton And Ben Mendelsohn In Robin Hood Reboot

It's been eight years since the release of Ridley Scott's Robin Hood movie, and another reboot is set to hit theaters later this year. We have some new images of lead Taron Egerton as Robin Hood and Ben Mendelsohn as the Sheriff of Nottingham.

Robin Hood is probably one of the most adaptable characters in fiction and has been the subject of countless movies and TV series. With last year's gritty reboot of King Arthur failing in the box office, I wonder how successful Lionsgate thinks this movie is going to be.

Aside from Mendelsohn and Egerton, this movie will aslo have Jamie Foxx as Little John, Eve Hewson as Maid Marian, and Tim Minchin as Friar Tuck. Jamie Dornan (of Fifty Shades) fame has also been cast as one of the Merry Men, Will Scarlet, and Paul Anderson will be playing the assassin Guy of Gisborne.

The series seems to have assembled an impressive cast, but only time will tell if this reboot turns out to be a success. Otto Bathurst may be new to movies, but he's directed some episodes of Peaky Blinders as well as the first installment of Black Mirror. This film could turn out promising.

Robin Hood is set for a release on Sept. 21, 2018.
