Kingsman 3: Statesman To Return; Matthew Vaughn Will Still Direct

Kingsman: The Golden Circle was another hit for 20th Century Fox, and it looks like a third Kingsman movie has officially been greenlit. Thanks to ScreenRant, we now know who will be returning as cast members, who will be directing, and when the movie is slated to come out.

As it turns out, Matthew Vaughn will be returning to direct the last movie, making this his second ever sequel (Golden Circle being the first). We know that Taron Egerton and Colin Firth will be coming back as Eggsy and Harry, but the Statesman will also be back as well with Jeff Bridges, Channing Tatum, and Halle Berry.

Talking to Deadline, Matthew Vaughn had this to say about the third Kingsman movie:

"Weirdly while we were writing Kingsman 2, we were thinking of Kingsman 3 as well, which is odd. We've got a big idea for that. This is sort of the bridge and if we can pull this off, we'll make another one."

Lead star Taron Egerton also says he already has an idea on who the villain would be, and he would love Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson to come in and play him. Egerton says:

"I know who the character is and it's nothing like this actor, but I love Dwayne Johnson. I think he's the right fit for it, but the villain role Matthew has described to me is not Dwayne Johnson."

With the Statesman absorbing the Kingsman by the end of the movie—as well as the death of Mark Strong's Merlin—it would make sense for the rest of the American agents to come back for the third film. Hopefully Kingsman 3 ends with a bang.

Kingsman 3 is said to be slated for a fall of 2019 release.
